The small print, in plain English
Privacy
I only ask for what I need to make and post your order, and I never sell or share your details for marketing.
Who I am
The Happy Hooker Handmade Crafts is run by me, Ann, a sole trader in England. I decide what happens to your details. You can reach me at sales@happyhookerhandmadecrafts.co.uk.
What I collect
- When you order: your name, delivery address, email, and phone number if you give one, plus what you ordered and any notes about sizes and colours.
- When you email me: your email address and whatever you write.
- Payment: your card details go straight to the payment company. I never see or keep them.
Why I use it
- To make your order, post it, and keep you updated. The law calls this "performing a contract".
- To keep the business records the tax office requires. That's a legal duty.
- To answer your questions.
I won't send you newsletters or offers unless you ask me to.
Who else sees it
Only the services I need to run the shop, and only what they need for their part:
- Monzo, my bank, when you pay through the payment link I email you. Your card details go to Monzo, never to me or this website.
- Royal Mail or the courier, to deliver your parcel (your name and address).
- My email provider, which stores our emails.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website and passes your order to my inbox. It keeps the items you chose (not your name or address) for six months, so I can look an order up.
How long I keep it
Order records are kept for as long as the tax rules require: at least five years after the tax return they belong to. Emails that aren't about an order are deleted when they're no longer needed.
Your basket
Your basket and notes are remembered by your own browser on your own device, so they're still there if you come back. Nothing is sent to me until you place an order. This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can ask me for a copy of the details I hold about you, ask me to correct them, or ask me to delete them (unless the tax rules mean I have to keep them). Just email me. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
